Experiencing Switzerland’s one and only Clubmed on the Swiss Alps!

The only Clubmed in Switzerland, with very basic accommodation and decent food.

When we think Clubmed, we immediately think of an all-inclusive holiday, where everything you would ever need is abundantly provided. The concept of “everything will be taken care of” is a compelling reason why people turn to Clubmed resorts for their fuss-free getaway. And while all these services that Clubmed are well recognized for are present at Clubmed Saint-Moritz Roi Soleil, they all seem to fall short individually; making this resort a hard recommend. Check out my short video overview of the resort HERE.

The Positives...

Still very much the same and pleasantly familiar Clubmed experience we come to expect..

Clubmed Saint-Moritz is conveniently situated just a short walk away from the center of the town. The resort was easy to find and provided a valet service for our car and belongings (including ski gear) upon arrival at the main lobby. With all our bulky ski gear and luggages taken care of, we entered the resort handsfree and collected our ski passes, keys to our room and booked our ski/snowboard group lessons for the next day. Overall, a pleasantly quick check-in process thanks to Clubmed’s website booking system; which required us to fill-in each guest’s check-in details prior to arrival.

This left us with everything we needed for our stay, and we could help ourselves to the complimentary snacks and drinks at the bar almost immediately upon arrival. The main lobby is spacious and modern with plenty of comfy sofa seats and a huge dance floor; a very pleasant experience after a long drive to get here.

We thoroughly enjoyed the ski resorts around Saint-Moritz. There were plenty of skiiable terrain to explore with incredible views from the summit. To be able to realistically cover all of it would take more than a week!

THE NEGATIVES...

Apart from the main lobby itself, a short walk away from the lobby to our room was all it took for the resort to start showing it’s signs of age. The elevators were slow and were almost always full of people. At times, many guests gave up waiting for the elevators and took the stairs instead. The rooms however, were pleasant and clean but they do show signs of age. For instance, the room doors still require a physical key to open and light and heater switches were single press buttons that were difficult to use. There was also an dry equipment room to store our ski gear which was relatively small and can get incredibly crowded during peak periods when everybody is heading out or coming back to the resort. The dining areas are nicely renovated but despite the nice ambience, the food was average at best and lacked variety across our 5 day stay. We could explore other food options in town outside of the resort, but this left us rather disappointed given the price we paid for an all-inclusive holiday experience.

OUR VERDICT?

Clubmed Saint-Moritz is the one and only Clubmed in Switzerland, beautifully decorated on the outside but seemingly lacking in all other areas that Clubmed is known for. Factoring in the asking price of a resort that only provided the bare necessities for an all-inclusive experience, we would not recommend a visit here. The ski terrains here are definitely worth visiting the town of Saint-Moritz for; but if you are looking for an all-inclusive Clubmed winter experience in Europe, we would recommend checking out the other options available in France.

SNOW3S TIP!

If you are Singaporean like us, Japan is and should always be your first choice! It’s closer to us and depending on which resort you are looking at, the Clubmed resorts in Japan are either brand new or newly renovated. Definitely worth checking out!
