How to Ski and Snowboard in Singapore @ Ski & Snowboard Academy

If you are looking for some practice before your winter/ski holiday, you may like to get some practice at Suntec’s Ski & Snowboard Academy. Here they have fully personalized practice sessions, which means that an instructor will personally guide you through choosing your boot sizes and bringing you onto the machine for some drills and practice.

What to expect?

You will need to bring along long socks, wear long pants and a comfortable shirt for this activity. All skiing/riding equipment is provided here but you will realize that the equipment on site is really old and horrendous. If you own ski/snowboard boots, I would highly recommend bringing them along.

The next tip is to arrive early, you would need time to go through boot fitting and get a good warm-up or some stretches before you start. Getting to know your instructor is also important and it would be good to get your instructor to show you how it is done so you could get a better idea how the machine or what to expect in the session.

Experiences @ EU Holiday’s Ski & Snowboard Academy

Your experience on-site is unique and has some personal touches to the drills and practice you could get here. An instructor will always be with you throughout your session from boot fitting until the end of class, no free and open practice sessions are allowed here unfortunately. The machine’s carpet material is thin and feels pretty hard when you fall so do wear some pad protection if you have some or use the limited pads available on site. They offer group and private classes which give you a different experience. I would only recommend choosing a private class if you feel that you do not have enough slope time in the group classes. Having a good instructor that you could feel comfortable with is important because that would help make the most out of your private classes.

Location

The Suntec location is pretty convenient with it being near an MRT entrance and right next to Don Don Donki. The room the machine is in also feels confined as the room is really small with low ceilings, this isn’t a dealbreaker but would affect you if you are on the top part of the machine. The idea is to stay on the bottom part of the machine if you are especially tall.
