In this post, we will share our holiday experience in Japan and how we traveled around Tokyo and Hakuba in a campervan.
We rented our campervan from campingcargate and we have a great experience with this company. They do not speak English very well but they are very accommodating to our requirements and there was a lot of communication using google translate. We picked up the vehicle from Narita airport with an additional fee and drove our family of 7 to Hakuba. We stayed at a condo near the ski field and were pleasantly surprised that it was actually affordable, I would definitely stay here if we didn’t rent a vehicle.
Next, we headed to rent snowboard gear and headed to the slopes for a few days, we had afternoon naps at the campervan and slept at a simple cottage nearby. The slopes at Iimori are relatively quiet compared to the crowds in Happo-One. Toomi is the only place with night skiing and would highly recommend staying at the condo on this slope to make the most out of your day if you have kids. The skiing was pretty good and my big boy enjoyed the ski school with his cousin for that few days we’re together.
What is better than skiing? The food! We ate at Donmaru and a few other spots that are quite good, food choices are abundent here. We missed out on the Onsens though and would highly recommend on going to one.
